# Open Oracle Alpha Privacy Policy

Effective July 28, 2026

This policy explains how Hopping Mad Games LLC processes personal data for the
invite-only Open Oracle Alpha.

## Data we process

We process account and invitation data such as email address, display name,
policy acceptance, academic eligibility, and sign-in events. We process saved
papers, private notes, finalized conversation transcripts, cited evidence,
session state, usage, estimated provider cost, and support or security messages.
We also process limited device, network, and audit data needed to secure and
operate the service.

Stripe processes payment-card details. Open Oracle stores provider customer,
subscription, charge, refund, and webhook identifiers rather than full card
numbers.

## Voice and research processing

Microphone and generated speech audio are streamed for a live session and are
not retained by Open Oracle. Finalized transcript text is retained until you
explicitly delete it. To provide grounded conversation, selected paper text,
page images, your current transcript, and bounded session instructions are sent
to the configured AI provider. Paper content is treated as untrusted evidence.

## Why we process data

We use data to authenticate invited users, provide and improve Alpha features,
maintain private libraries and notes, ground research answers, meter credits,
process subscriptions and refunds, prevent abuse, diagnose failures, comply
with law, and communicate about the account or service. We do not sell personal
data or use it for targeted advertising.

## Service providers and disclosure

We disclose only the data needed for service providers that support AI
processing, payments, email delivery, hosting, storage, security, and
operations. We may disclose information when required by law, to protect users
or the service, or in a business transaction subject to appropriate safeguards.

## Retention and control

Account, policy, billing, refund, and security records are retained as needed
for the service, disputes, accounting, fraud prevention, and legal obligations.
Saved papers and notes remain until you remove them or the account is deleted,
subject to necessary backup and legal retention. Finalized conversation
transcripts can be deleted after a session ends. Open Oracle does not retain
session audio.

You may request access, correction, deletion, or a portable copy of applicable
personal data by contacting privacy@open-oracle.com. You may also opt out of
sale or targeted advertising, though Open Oracle states that it does neither.
We will verify requests and provide any appeal process required by applicable
law. Account deletion may preserve records that law or fraud prevention
requires.

## Security, age, and changes

We use access controls, hashed single-use tokens, encrypted transport, bounded
provider tools, and audit records, but no system is perfectly secure. Alpha is
for people age 16 or older and is not directed to children under 16. A user who
has not reached the age of legal majority where they live must have the
parental or legal-guardian permission described in the Terms. Material changes
use a new policy version and renewed acceptance when required.
